iOS 14.6 has been released alongside watchOS 7.5 and macOS Big Sur 11.4 updates. The new updates are available to download via over-the-air for eligible devices. The iPhones are getting Podcasts support as well as AirTag enhancements.
Starting with the iOS 14.6 update, it is about 900MB in size but may vary depending on the iPhone model and is now available to download for iPhone 6s and later. Similarly, the watchOS 7.5 also started rolling out to Apple Watch Series 3 and later models and is about 200MB in size. The macOS Big Sur 11.4 update is about 3GB in size and is the fourth major update to macOS Big Sur.
Looking at the size of the update, iOS 14.6 is also a major update for iPhones after iOS 14.5, which was rolled out last month. Outside India, the new iOS 14.6 update adds support for the Apple Card Family, which was announced at the company's special spring event.
Talking about the full changelog, the iOS 14.6 update brings Podcasts support with a subscription for channels and individual shows. It also adds the Lost Mode option to add an email address instead of a phone number for AirTag and Find My network accessories.
Additionally, AirTag will show the partially masked phone number of the owner when tapped with an NFC-capable device. In terms of accessibility options, users with voice control can unlock their iPhone for the first time after a restart using only their voice.
The new iOS 14.6 release also brings fixes for some known issues, like unlock with Apple Watch may not work after using Lock iPhone on Apple Watch, Reminders may appear as blank lines, Call blocking extensions may not appear in Settings, Bluetooth devices could sometimes disconnect or send audio to a different device during an active call, and iPhone may experience reduced performance during startup.
Coming to watchOS 7.5, the update includes new features, improvements, and bug fixes. It offers access to subscription content in the Podcasts app. It adds support for the ECG app on Apple Watch Series 4 and later in Malaysia and Peru, as well as support for irregular heart rhythm notifications in Malaysia and Peru.
Similar to iOS 14.6 and watchOS 7.5, the new macOS Big Sur 11.4 update also adds Apple Podcasts subscriptions and channel support. It also includes important bug fixes.
