Pixel 8 series will launch on October 4, here is how much it may cost

The Pixel 8 series will officially be announced on October 4 and the upcoming Google event will start at 7:30PM in India. This is exactly a month away and so, many of you might be wondering if the new Pixel phones are coming to India or not and how much they may cost. Let's take a look at these based on the leaks and rumours that are out.

Will Pixel 8 series launch in India?

Google hasn't yet confirmed if the new flagship Pixel 8 phones are also coming to the Indian market. The devices such as the Pixel 4, Pixel 5, and Pixel 6 didn't come to India, but Google launched the Pixel 7 in the country. The Pixel 6 didn't make it because of supply issues, which is something that the tech giant said. While we expect Google to bring the Pixel 8 series to India, there are no strong rumours about it so far. The India launch might also depend on how the Pixel 7 series performed in India in terms of sales numbers.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has previously revealed that the company received a good response to its Pixel 7 series and Pixel 6 in terms of sales. But, details are scarce on which markets the sale numbers might be good. Hence, people will have to wait for around a month to know more on this front.

Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro: What could be the price?

According to TheTechOutlook and tipster Paras Guglani, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro could have significantly higher prices in Europe. Before we talk about the leaked prices, it is worth pointing out that the Indian prices are usually a bit lower than in European markets. The Pixel 8 with 128GB storage might cost around EUR 874 (around Rs 78,000) with taxes, or EUR 710 (roughly Rs 63,370) without tax. As for the Pixel 8 Pro, it's rumored to start at $1,235 (around Rs 1,10,220) for 128GB storage, which is inclusive of tax.

In India, the company usually introduces phones at the original set price and not according to Europe's tax system. The price in India for the Pixel 8 is expected to be between Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000. But, this is not the official pricing and just a prediction based on leaks and previous launches. To recall, the Pixel 7 was announced in India for Rs 59,999 and the Pixel 7 Pro at Rs 84,999. The prices of these 5G phones were announced at the end of the global event.
