Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made it clear that India’s approach to cryptocurrencies will remain independent of what is happening in the US. Speaking to Business Today TV at the India Today-Business Today Budget Round Table 2025, the Finance Minister stated that India's approach to crypto regulation remains – “We are India. I'll think about India.” With the newly installed Trump administration in the US going all out to promote cryptocurrencies, even announcing plans to set up a sovereign crypto reserve, the virtual tokens have been rallying. The FM also highlighted the government's focus on understanding crypto transactions and its efforts to promote global regulation through G20 discussions.
