Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Prime Minister Dhan Dhaniya Krishi Yojana, focusing on agriculture as a key engine for India’s growth. Motivated by the success of the aspirational district program, the Yojana aims to improve productivity in 100 low-productivity districts across the country. The program targets crop diversification, sustainable farming, and enhanced irrigation to boost agricultural output. Key measures include increasing post-harvest storage, providing long-term and short-term credit, and supporting 1.7 crore farmers. By integrating existing schemes, this initiative will create a more resilient agricultural sector and ensure inclusive growth for farmers.
