North-west India might have received 12 per cent more rainfall but central India was deficient by 15 per cent while South Peninsula reels under a deficit of 13 per cent.
The court also set up a committee to assess the ecological and
environmental damage caused by the seven developers and submit the
report within 45 days.
The northwest India meteorological sub-division, comprising food bowl states like Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, is reeling under a rainfall deficit of 21 per cent.
