Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 'Statue of Unity' was inaugurated today and is the world's tallest statue.
Height: 182 metres, to match the number of Assembly constituencies in Gujarat
Cost of construction: Rs 2,989 crore
Location: Sadhu bet, Near Sardar Sarovar Dam, Narmada district, Gujarat
It is twice the height of the Statues of Liberty in New York

Spring Temple Buddha
Location: Lushan County, Henan, China
Height: 128 metres
Cost of construction: nearly $18 million (1.8cr)
It depicts the Vairocana Buddha. Completed in 2008, it is the tallest Buddha statue in the world

Laykyun Sekkya
Location: Khatakan Taung, near Monywa, Myanmar
Height: 116 metres
Construction began in 1996 and it was completed on February 21, 2008. The statue depicts Gautam Buddha.

Ushiku Daibutsu
Location: Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan
Height: 110 metres
It held the record for the tallest statue from 1993-2002
