Akasa Air is emerging as India's fastest-growing airline, expanding its capacity even as larger rivals IndiGo and Air India reduce operations. The airline has added 1.57 lakh seats over the past two months, taking its fleet to 40 aircraft, while preparing for further expansion with a large Boeing order. Richa Sharma, Business Today, highlights that Akasa's strong pilot availability and plans to raise over ₹1,000 crore through debt and equity are supporting its aggressive growth strategy. The airline is now targeting nearly 50% capacity growth in FY27, despite challenges from the ongoing Middle East crisis.
