Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, visited the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Wednesday, accompanied by his wife. He expressed being deeply moved by the devotion and faith of the pilgrims and worshippers. Speaking to ANI, Azar highlighted the importance of connecting with people and immersing himself in India’s rich cultural heritage. "I am honoured to visit the magnificent temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya and amazed by the number of worshippers here," he said. Azar reflected on the shared pride that India and Israel hold for their ancient religions, traditions, and heritage, emphasizing that devotion strengthens communities. "As we are proud of our heritage, so are you, and this devotion gives strength," he noted, expressing his appreciation for the values commemorated at the temple. He further explained the importance of understanding India’s culture as an ambassador, stating that he and his wife aimed to explore the country's traditions in a deeper way through the visit. The visit followed a meeting between Ambassador Azar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow, where they discussed strengthening cooperation between Israel and Uttar Pradesh. Both sides are exploring new opportunities to enhance collaboration for the benefit of the people in the state.
