AAP MP Raghav Chadha launched a sharp attack on the Union Budget in Parliament, focusing on what he called its “bad” aspects, especially rising debt and middle-class distress. He accused the government of manipulating the debt-to-GDP formula to borrow more, warning that off-balance-sheet liabilities like FCI, NHAI and OMC bonds hide the true debt burden. Chadha also flagged the lack of income tax relief, noting no changes in slabs or standard deduction despite high inflation and salary stagnation. Calling the middle class “sandwiched” between rich and poor, he urged tax relief or stronger incentives for savings and wealth creation to ease rising costs of living.
