The construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has significantly boosted tourism in the religious city, leading to a surge in hotel bookings. In the week leading up to the temple's inauguration, Ayodhya witnessed an 80% increase in bookings, the highest to date. Hotel rates have skyrocketed up to five times, causing availability issues for tourists. On the consecration day, an estimated 3 to 5 lakh devotees are expected to visit Ayodhya, with most hotels already fully booked. Prices have soared, with some reaching up to ten times the average rate. Notable hotels like Cygnett Collection and Ramayana Hotel reflect these substantial price hikes. Hotel managers anticipate heavy footfall, with special menus and cultural themes to enhance guests' experiences. Newly built home stays, like Sukhadstay near Ram Mandir, offer affordable options based on the Ramayana theme. The government's investment in infrastructure, including the recently inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport and Ayodhya Railway Station, aims to accommodate the increasing number of tourists.
