
In a significant milestone for India’s aerospace sector, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran inaugurated the TATA Aircraft Complex in Vadodara, Gujarat, dedicated to manufacturing the C-295 aircraft. During the event, he emphasized the project’s origins, recalling that it was envisioned over a decade ago in 2012 by the late Ratan Tata, who fostered a crucial partnership with Airbus. Chandrasekaran honored Ratan Tata's visionary leadership, noting the project's importance for both the Tata Group and the nation. He further committed to delivering the first indigenously manufactured aircraft within two years, pledging collaboration with the Prime Minister's office to mark this historic occasion. Chandrasekaran revealed that the initial 200 engineers from the Tata Group are currently training in Spain, and highlighted the engagement of 40 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the localization process, with plans to expand this network.
