Energy Is India’s Big Growth Theme, Says Jefferies’ Christopher Wood

 India’s vibrant small- and mid-cap market remains one of its most interesting equity themes, according to Christopher Wood, Global Head of Equity Strategy, Jefferies In a conversation with Sakshi Batra, Business Today TV, Wood says India’s bottom-up market is supported by strong mutual fund flows and a broad pool of companies. However, he cautions that fresh equity issuance is increasing the supply of paper and could cap the broader index. Looking across sectors, Wood highlights energy as a major growth theme across large, mid and small caps. He points to rising private-sector investment, renewable energy growth and falling solar costs. Wood says India is positioned to participate in the global energy transition, with renewables emerging as a key structural growth opportunity for investors.
