From Startups To Universities: PM Modi's Big Vision For India's Youth

Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi placed India's youth at the centre of the journey towards a developed India. He highlighted the growth of the startup ecosystem, noting that more than 250,000 startups have been registered under Startup India, while the government has announced an innovation fund worth ₹1 lakh crore. PM Modi also spoke about Skill India, the opening up of the space sector, the National Drone Policy and Khelo India. Highlighting developments in education, he said around 650 new universities have been added over the past 10–12 years, taking the country's total close to 1,000. He also highlighted more than 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs aimed at encouraging innovation and interest in technology among young Indians.
