Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a gathering in Surat, highlighted India's growing energy security and the success of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative amid ongoing global uncertainties. Modi said the current global crisis has demonstrated the importance of self-reliance, especially in the energy sector. He pointed to India's remarkable progress in solar power, ethanol blending, railway electrification, nuclear energy, gas pipeline expansion, and modernization of the power transmission network. The Prime Minister noted that India has emerged among the world's top five solar energy producers and significantly strengthened its energy infrastructure over the past 12 years. Modi also criticized those who mock the self-reliant India campaign, saying such thinking keeps the country dependent on foreign nations. Emphasizing that a nation reliant on others cannot achieve its full development potential, he reaffirmed the government's commitment to further expanding India's energy capacity and strengthening economic resilience in the years ahead.
