European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the India–EU summit as a historic moment, marking the culmination of a year-long commitment between the two sides. Recalling the visit of the full College of Commissioners to India, she said it reflected the seriousness of intent now realised through the landmark trade agreement, termed the “mother of all deals.” Von der Leyen said the pact creates a market of two billion people, integrating supply chains and strengthening joint manufacturing power. She highlighted tariff reductions, job creation, and economic complementarity, combining Indian scale and skills with European technology and innovation to deliver growth neither could achieve alone.
