For nearly two months, residents of Kunwar Singh Colony in West Delhi allege they have been receiving sewer-mixed water directly from Delhi Jal Board pipelines. Despite repeated complaints, visits by officials, and even evidence on the Delhi Jal Board’s own social media pages, residents say they are repeatedly told just one thing:“Paani theek hai.” India Today accessed homes where contaminated water flows straight from taps, spoke to families forced to buy bottled water daily despite soaring DJB bills, and local medical shops reporting 15 cases of waterborne illness every day.
