Top Legal Eagles Flock To Tata Sons & Tata Trusts As Boardroom Clash Heads To Court

A major boardroom battle has erupted at Tata Sons, with Tata Trusts challenging the reappointment of N Chandrasekaran as Chairman. The dispute has raised critical questions about corporate governance, shareholder rights and the future of India's largest conglomerate. The controversy intensified after four of the five voting board members supported Chandrasekaran's reappointment, while Noel Tata opposed the resolution. Venu Srinivasan, another Tata Trusts nominee, voted in favour, creating a sharp divide. Tata Trusts maintains that the resolution cannot pass without the support of a majority of its nominated directors. The Trusts have also opposed the proposal to list Tata Sons, questioning the arguments surrounding enhanced corporate governance.
