“Your Phone Won’t Stay A Phone”: Qualcomm CEO Drops AI Bombshell

At the AI India Impact Summit, Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, said he was energized by India’s AI momentum and outlined the “next chapter of AI.” Amon said AI is moving beyond chatbots to always-on intelligent agents embedded across devices, fundamentally changing how humans interact with technology. He highlighted Qualcomm’s role in enabling on-device and distributed AI, from smartphones and wearables to data centers. Calling AI a pervasive force, he said agents will redefine mobility, networks, and industries, while presenting India with a major opportunity to lead in AI-driven manufacturing, connectivity, and digital transformation.
