Indian IT giant Infosys has started withdrawing its employees from Japan following fears of radiation leak after the Friday's massive earthquake and tsunami devastated the country, company sources said on Tuesday.

While several employees were already on their way home, the others would leave Japan on Tuesday.

Infosys, India's second largest software services exporter, has around 500 employees in the disaster-hit country out of which 250 are from India.

A Wipro spokesperson said that the company had made no decision to call back its employees as of now.

Several embassies in Japan have also asked their staffers and citizens to leave the affected areas. Tourists have been cutting short their vacations and leaving the country at the first opportunity.
