Maruti Suzuki's compact SUV lineup is witnessing strong demand! The company sold 1,93,872 compact SUVs in the first half of FY2026-27, led by the Fronx with 1,10,135 units. The Brezza followed with 80,516 units, while the Jimny recorded 3,221 units. But what's making the Fronx such a popular choice among Indian buyers?

Fronx frenzy

More than 1.10 lakh buyers chose the Maruti Suzuki Fronx in just six months! The company sold 1,10,135 units in the first half of FY2026-27, compared with 76,805 units a year earlier. That's a 43% jump in sales. Interestingly, the Fronx is now closing in on the Ertiga, which recorded 1,12,557 units during the same period.

Mileage magnet

Could fuel efficiency be one reason behind the Fronx's popularity? The compact SUV offers a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol option. For buyers worried about rising running costs, there's also a CNG variant delivering a claimed mileage of 28.51 km/kg. With prices ranging from ₹6.90 lakh to ₹12.03 lakh (ex-showroom), it targets different budgets.
