Alto challenger
France's Citroen is preparing to bring back one of its most iconic small cars, the 2 CV, with a modern electric twist. The compact EV concept could enter India's crowded small-car market, potentially challenging the space long associated with the Maruti Alto.

Indian surprise
The biggest twist is Citroen's reported India strategy. The new 2 CV is being considered in both hatchback and pickup versions, offering buyers two very different options. The concept was presented at the Paris Motor Show, but its India launch remains unconfirmed.

Tiny powerhouse
Small on the outside, ambitious on the inside. The Citroen 2 CV concept measures just 3.76 metres, with a target weight below 1,000 kg. The lightweight approach is intended to help maximise driving range, although Citroen has not revealed the battery capacity or range.

Retro rebellion
The original 2 CV's familiar silhouette could return with a futuristic makeover. Round headlights, a curved roofline, wheel arches and distinctive wheels give the concept its retro appeal, while a minimalist cabin and fewer physical buttons point towards a modern driving experience.

Price shock
Could a European electric car challenge India's budget hatchbacks? Citroen is reportedly targeting a starting price of around €15,000 in Europe, equivalent to roughly ₹16 lakh. That is far above traditional Alto territory, making its eventual India pricing a major question.
