Nubia launches a phone cooler that can hit -18°C and slash heat during gaming

Nubia is taking smartphone cooling to an extreme with a magnetic accessory whose cooling plate can reach -18°C. Designed for gamers battling heat during long sessions, the device promises a very different approach to keeping performance temperatures under control.

60-Degree Drop

The headline claim is not just about the cooler's own temperature. Nubia says the device can reduce a phone's temperature by as much as 60°C during heavy use, potentially making it an intriguing option for gamers dealing with heat buildup and performance throttling.

Vanilla Gadget

It may look more like an ice-cream box than gaming hardware, but the unusual off-white cooler hides serious thermal machinery inside. Its rounded square body, speckled finish and compact form give a distinctly playful twist to what is essentially a high-powered cooling accessory.

6,000 RPM

Inside the small accessory is a seven-blade fan capable of spinning at 6,000 RPM, while its airflow is directed upwards and downwards. The design aims to push hot air away from the user's hands, an especially useful detail during extended gaming sessions.
