Planning a phone or appliance purchase? Flipkart’s October 9 sale date has leaked, but do not fix your budget yet

A circulated teaser claims the Big Billion Days sale could begin on October 9, 2026. As of this fact-check, no dated Flipkart announcement available on its official site authenticated that schedule, so the headline and copy must use “reported,” “leaked” or “could”—never “will begin.”

The same material claims Flipkart Plus members may enter the sale one day early on October 8. Early access is plausible because Flipkart offered a 24-hour head start to Plus and Black members in 2025, but last year’s policy does not verify this year’s date or eligible membership tiers.

The leak mentions up to 10% instant discount on eligible Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards, but the minimum transaction, card type, product eligibility and maximum discount are not confirmed. Until the terms appear on Flipkart and the bank’s offer page, no rupee saving should be calculated from that headline percentage.

Flipkart’s 2025 sale began on September 23, showing that annual sale dates can move. For a phone, TV or appliance, record the current price now and compare the sale price after bank cap, exchange value, delivery charge and no-cost-EMI terms; a large displayed discount may not equal the lowest payable price.
