Waiting until Diwali to buy a car? These five reported launches do not all have official dates—check before delaying

Renault India’s Duster page specifies a 1.8-litre petrol engine, 1.4 kWh battery and two-motor, eight-speed DHT for the strong-hybrid E-Tech 160. Its price page says the hybrid is expected around Diwali 2026, with prices to be announced nearer launch.

Reports expect a Safari EV around the festive period, but Tata.ev’s current range and brochure pages do not list that model. Tata officially sells the Harrier.ev, while the Safari’s official page covers the internal-combustion model; an exact Safari EV launch date therefore remains unconfirmed.

Mahindra’s official site lists the three-door Thar and its variants, but does not announce a September facelift launch date. Reports expect revised styling, lighting and cabin equipment, so buyers should wait for Mahindra’s price list and brochure before treating those features as final.

An October Fronx update with a different petrol engine and revised nose has been reported, but Maruti Suzuki’s current model and corporate-release pages do not contain a dated facelift announcement. Until one appears, the launch month and final equipment should remain labelled “expected.”

Volkswagen India currently highlights the limited Virtus Anniversary Edition, including Avocado Pearl paint and accessories. A facelift has been seen in testing and is expected by automotive publications, but Volkswagen’s India site does not yet provide an official facelift date, price or specification sheet.

Among these five, Renault provides the clearest manufacturer-backed product details. For the others, compare your present car’s exchange value, current discounts and delivery wait with the cost of delaying—and place a booking only after the maker publishes a price, brochure and delivery schedule.
