

Many MBAs and Btech degree holders were among the candidates who appeared for the practical exam to become sweepers with the Allahabad Municipal Corporation, according to The Times of India report .
1.10 lakh candidates are taking the exam to become contractual sweepers. The Allahabad Municipal Corporation introduced this examination to evaluate cleaning skills in 2008.
The report states that given the large number of applicants, the process is expected to take around 408 days. It further claimed that the recruitment may be further delayed if there is a change in government after the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
The candidates are competing for 119 vacancies in Allahabad and around 100 in every district across the state. The minimum qualification for the job is reading and writing abilities in Hindi.
