Google marks 18th birthday with a Doodle

Google is celebrating its 18th birthday the way it does best - through a Doodle. The web giant marked the day with an animated, festive-balloon Doodle.

Designed by Gerben Steenks, the Doodle depicts the letter G blowing up a balloon, forming it into the Google logo which floats towards the sky.

The search engine giant was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. According to the company, the date of incorporation has been listed as September 4, 1998.

The company has been celebrating its birthday on September 27 since 2006.  In 2005, it was celebrated on September 26.  The first Google Birthday doodle was in 2002, celebrating four years as a company.

There has been some confusion regarding the date as Google has celebrated its birthday on other days in the month of September. Hence, it is tough to tell the exact date.
 
Nonetheless, let's wish Google for giving us all the wisdom and completing 18 successful years.
