Rustom versus Mohenjo Daro: Has Hrithik Roshan's periodic drama failed to spread its charm?

While Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro has collected Rs 51.18 crore in first week, Akshay Kumar starrer film "Rustom" is on its way to mop more than Rs 100 crore at the box office. The clash of two of the biggest Bollywood stars has garnered much attention since their respected releases on August 12.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweete:

'Rustom' sees Akshay Kumar in the title role with Ileana D'cruz and Esha Gupta playing vital roles. The film is on real life incident of Nanavati Murder Case. Ashutosh Gowariker-directed 'Mohenjo Daro' is a periodic film set to 2600 BC and is second periodic film by the duo after 'Jodha Akbar'.

Even after one week, Mohenjo Daro has not even earned half the amount of its estimated Rs 115 crore budget.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom continued a strong performance at the box office on Thursday, with the film benefitting from the festival of Rakhi.

Rustom has been speeding up on the box office records and it seems that the film will soon enter the 100 crore club. If that happens, Hrithik Roshan will have to embrace failure at the hands of the much-awauted courtroom drama 'Rustom'
