The BSE Sensex and Nifty closed the week in green, gaining 0.43 per cent to 27,324 and 0.46 per cent to 8,262.35, respectively on Friday.
Here are four stocks that stayed in limelight during the day's trade:
- Jubilant FoodWorks: Shares rose nearly 11.36 per cent to Rs 1,747 after the company reported a 26.37 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended March 31.
- Tata Steel: Investors were spooked by the company announcing that it would take a non-cash write down of goodwill and assets worth Rs 6,500 crores. The effect of the same would reflect in upcoming FY15 results. According to market experts, the company's debt to equity ratio will go up from 1.76 to more than 2. Shares declined 0.60 per cent to Rs 363.45.
- DLF: Shares declined 1.65 per cent to Rs 124.85 after the news that the Competition Commission of India found the realty giant guilty of indulging in "unfair and abusive" business practices in sale of apartments in a Gurgaon housing project.
- Edelweiss Financial Services: Shares plunged 4.69 per cent to Rs 60.90 after the company announced a 36.78 per cent drop in net profit for the January-March quarter.
