Wednesday was the fourth consecutive trading session of buying in the Indian equity, supported by strong global cues, strengthening of rupee and above-average monsoon till date. However, investors booked profit in the last 30 minutes of trade on concerns of outcome of the two-day Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meet that kicks off later on Wednesday.

Here are five stocks that remained in limelight today:

 

  • Ramky Infrastructure: The share price of the company jumped nearly 20 per cent on Wednesday on news that the company is in active discussions with buyers to sell four of its road assets. Ramky is expected to earn around Rs 1,000 crore from this sale. Further, the company is also looking to sell a 1,200 acre land parcel on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Share price of the company closed at Rs 35.75.
  • Tata Steel: Shares rose 3.62 per cent to Rs 305.10 on reports that the labour unions at the company's UK plant deferred its strike after Tata Steel made a fresh offer to the union regarding employees' final salary pension scheme.
  • Jubilant Life Sciences: The scrip gained over 2 per cent after the company announced 10 per cent increase in price of Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3, with immediate effect. Shares closed at Rs 172.25, up 2.26 per cent. The scrip touched an intra-day high and low of Rs 182.85 and 171.30, respectively.
  • ACC: Shares of the cement major gained over 1 per cent to Rs 1,407 after the company informed BSE that it has resumed limestone mining operation at Bargarh. "The impact of the closure was not material since cement grinding continued with transfer of clinker from sister works or purchase of clinker," it said.
  • HCL Infosystems: Shares of the software major surged 5.78 per cent to Rs 35.70, their second day of gains, after IT software and hardware major Dell declared its strategic partnership with the company for distribution of its products in India.
