Though good looking and feature rich, wearing the Jabra Sport headset was a pain with the improper fit hurting our ears.
JABRA SPORTPrice: Rs 5,999
As the name suggests, the
new headset from Jabra is for outdoor sports lovers and can withstand dust, water as well as falls. Worn over both the ears, the headset doesn't have a protruding microphone. Instead, the
two earplugs are connected with bright yellow cable (something not everyone would like). Making it user friendly, all the controls are placed on the right ear plug.
These include the charging port, play/pause key also used for turning on the headset, volume controls and the FM key. Pairing the headset is easy and it can even take voice commands.
While connected to a handset over Bluetooth, we were able to use the Sport for answering calls as well as to enjoy music. But the sound quality wasn't praiseworthy and the Bluetooth signal reception was poor with the handset in the trackpants pocket. Instead, when the device was tied using the arm band, there was a significant improvement in the sound reception.
Unlike other headsets, the Sport also has an integrated FM radio. Long pressing the volume up and down key scans channels. But even here there was audio distortion.
Though good looking and feature rich, wearing the headset was a pain with the improper fit hurting our ears.
BAG IT OR JUNK IT? Nice concept but poorly implemented.
