iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus launch
The iPhone 7 is out and as expected, it is bound to be a head-turner. A head-turner not only because of a refined design but also because of that massive camera bump on the iPhone7 and iPhone7 Plus. Apple has ditched its 2-year major update cycle by following the footprint of the iPhone 6s. The new iPhone will come with iOS 10.
Apart from the Dual-Lens setup and new antenna-lines, the phone is covered with a new refined design with the Jet Black a high gloss finish. One might be able to distinguish the newer version from the older 6s but not from a distance.
The biggest change in the design will be the absence of a 3.5mm jack replaced by a single lightning port. With the resulting space, Apple has decided to go with a speaker grill to give it a more symmetric look. The phone will come bundled with a lightning port to 3.5mm jack adapter.
Apple is doing away with the clickable home button and is trading it with a force-touch button similar to the track pad on the Macbook. It will also double-up as a finger-print sensor. This change will facilitate the new IP67 rating making iPhone 7 the first waterproof iPhone.
Apple has consistently experienced a drop in iPhone sales after the festive season last year. The daring move to stick to a similar design won't encourage upgrades from the iPhone 6s or even the iPhone 6
The new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will feature a Retina HD display with Cinema standard and 3D touch features. 24 per cent brighter than 6s and 6s plus. The screen will come with wider color-gambit making it much sharper. The 3D touch will get improvements to incorporate more functionality and pressure sensitivity.
Last year, Apple came up with a new Rose Gold option which was the best selling colour among the three. This year, Apple has launched the two new colours which includes a glossy jet black, subtle black, silver and rose gold.Software
The new phones will come with iOS 10. New features in messaging which includes payment methods and interactive stickers.
iPhone 7 and iPhone Plus both will get OIS. The Quad-LED True tone flash will provide a balanced and natural picture even in pitch-dark environments. Even without the flash, the phone will be able to take incredible pictures in low-light. The colours are promised to be more sharper and colourful. The new 7 Megapixel FaceTime front facing camera will also produce sharper as well as wide angle frames.
The iPhone 7 Plus will feature one wide angle and one telephoto lens which will give immense depth to the pictures creating an impressive bokeh effect. Depth of field photography will give DSLRs a run for their money.
The new A10 chip is an incremental update to last years A9 chip. The new chipset will be able to handle higher and more intense graphics with no frame-drops. With the enhanced hardware and Apple's well-optimised iOS10 the phone should easily be able to handle heavy tasks.
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come with an extra back up of two and one hour respectively in comparison to their predecessors. The company has claimed it to be the best back up on an iPhone.
