Photo: ReutersKorean technology giant LG has announced the launch of two new smartphones in India - the K7 and K10. Priced at Rs 9,500 and Rs 13,500 respectively, both these smartphones will be manufactured in India. With the launch of these two new smartphones, LG is trying to reiterate the company's long-term commitment to India as these are the company's first two smartphones manufactured in India.
The LG K7 features a 5-inch touch display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset paired with 1.5 GB of RAM. It features a 5-MP rear camera, 5-MP front facing camera, 8 GB ROM, 2,215-mAh battery and features such as Gesture Shot, Gesture Interval Shot, tap and shot, etc.
It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and is 4G enabled.
On the other hand, the K10 packs in a 5.3-inch HD display along with a 13-MP rear camera and 5-MP front facing camera. It is paired with 2 GB of RAM, comes with 16 GB ROM and a 2,300-mAh battery.
This one, too, runs on Android 5.1 OS and has similar features such as gesture interval shot, tap and shot, etc.
Kim Ki-Wan, Managing Director, LG Electronics India, says, "India is a strategic market for LG globally and the decision to manufacture smartphones in India underscores our commitment to our customers here. We want to tap the huge potential for smartphones in the country and the K series will be the first ones to be manufactured in India. While these devices are in the sub 15k price band, they have features typically seen only in premium devices."
