What Nokia's new smartphone Lumia 925 offers

The smartphone boasts of an 8.7 megapixel camera that can take photos in low light conditions and snaps 10 images at once.

Available at a price tag of about 470 euros ($610) before subsidies or taxes, Nokia unveiled a new metallic smartphone , the Lumia 925, at an event in London on Tuesday.

The phone will go on sale in China and Europe next month and later in the United States by T.Mobile.

The Lumia 925 is slimmer and lighter that the flagship model Lumia 920. The smartphone boasts of an 8.7 megapixel camera that can take photos in low light conditions and snaps 10 images at once. It enables sharing on various social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Tumblr, Flickr and Instagram.

Gadget and Gizmos reviews the new Nokia smartphone and says the Lumia 925 will have a 4.5-inch AMOLED display with 1280x786p resolution protected by Gorilla 2 glass. Running Windows Phone 8, it will be powered by a 1.5Ghz dual-core Snapdragon processor with 1GB RAM.

The smartphone will come with 16GB onboard memory with access to 7GB free storage on SkyDrive cloud storage. Weighing 139 grams, it packs in a 2000 mAh battery. Nokia has also done away with built-in wireless charging by announcing add-on covers supporting wireless charging that can be clipped to the Lumia 925.

Nokia has also announced that the imaging software on the Lumia 925 will be available to the existing Lumia smartphones on Windows Phone 8 through a firmware update called Nokia Lumia Amber set to roll out this summer.
