With the launch of the printers today, Toshiba has a total of 27 models in its portfolio including 11 colour and 26 monochrome MFPs.Japanese technology giant Toshiba has announced the launch of its new multi-function printers (MFP) in India. Of the five printers launched, the e-STUDIO2802AM series claims to bring the convenience and cost-efficiency to smaller businesses and workgroups as the two MFPs in this range are A4 size compact MFPs that can produce A3 size output prints.
Currently sitting at 6 per cent market share in India, Toshiba is eyeing to more than double the market share in next couple of years. The company aims to have 15 per cent market share in MFP in India. With the launch of the printers today, Toshiba has a total of 27 models in its portfolio including 11 colour and 26 monochrome MFPs.
This new MFPs that enables A3 output print will be priced at Rs 35,000 onwards. It enables A3 output print by using built-in stack feed bypass and also enables A3 size paper scanning with its built-in Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (RADF).
According to Isao Sugehara, Chief Marketing Executive of Toshiba TEC Corporation, "the current market of MFPs in India in the year 2014 was 1.2 lakhs units. Even through corporates are moving towards paperless policy and schools towards digital interactive lessons, the demand for printing has neither increased nor decreased."
Toshiba sees a great demand from Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities and from entry level and medium enterprises. With servicing an important part of MFP business, Sugehara added, "Toshiba's is focusing on making quality machines that doesn't require servicing. The new product line up is easy to install with three step process. Also, the effort is to reduce the demand for service. In case our customer needs service we have partners who will be trained by Toshiba India for the same."
