The much-awaited BlackBerry Q10, the
first BB10 device with a QWERTY keypad, will be launched in India on June 6.
BlackBerry has yet to send out invitations for the launch event, but all indications are that the phone is finally coming to India next week.
Unveiled along with the flagship BlackBerry Z10 in January this year, the Q10 is expected to be more popular among users who are not comfortable with a touch screen.
The
Q10 has the same specs as the Z10, but is expected to be priced a bit lower. The
Z10 sells for Rs 42,490.
The Q10, already available in some markets, including Canada and UK, comes in black and white, and "combines the power of the BlackBerry 10 platform with a large, re-engineered physical keyboard and stunning touch screen display - the largest ever on a BlackBerry QWERTY smartphone".
Earlier this week, BlackBerry announced the launch of the phone in the Philippines.
The next in line from
BlackBerry is the Q5, which targets younger smartphone users with its vibrant colours and a more affordable price tag. The device is expected to be launched in July.
