Photo: ReutersGoogle will begin shutting down its Google Plus Photos app from August 1. The tech major will make the app unavailable to Android users first. Web and iOS users will follow.
According to a Techcrunch report, the app's users are already being prompted into downloading the new Google Photos service.
Google is also offering a tool for Google Plus Photos users to easily switch to Google Photos.
If the users fail to switch to before August 1, Google says their photos and videos will be available to them using Google Takeout.
