New IRCTC e-ticketing app, website launched, here are some of the new features

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has launched the revamped IRCTC website along with the Rail Connect app. A more user-friendly version of the website has been launched that would make online booking faster and hassle-free. "The new IRCTC website will mean you can book tickets faster with the help of artificial intelligence," Piyush Goyal said at the launch.

Talking about the revamped website "Based on an AI platform, the IRCTC website will have frequent traveler's history along with their travel pattern. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, around 73% of tickets for railway travel were booked through the IRCTC website but post-coronavirus around 83% of the tickets are now booked through IRCTC."

"There are about 6 crore users registered with IRCTC and every minute around 25,000 tickets are booked on the website. On the new website around 40,000 people could log in at the same time and now this capacity has been increased to 5 lakh people/users at the same time," he added.

The revamped website will be operational from January 1. Here are some of the features in the app and the website.

IRCTC has also added a one-click feature that will provide the following information
Integrated booking of accommodation
Last transaction details
Refund status of all journeys including cancellations

The new IRCTC website will feature the following details
1. All classes availability & confirmation probability on one page
2. 'One Click' start for booking of selected class and train
