OnePlus is rumoured to launch the Nord 2T soon in India. According to leaked details, the OnePlus Nord 2T India launch event will be hosted on July 1. The Nord 2T will launch as a follow-up to the Nord 2, which was launched last year in India. OnePlus has already launched the smartphone in select markets. The Indian variant is expected to pack the same set of specs.
The OnePlus Nord 2T shares a lot of hardware with the Nord 2. However, there are some areas where the Nord 2T has received key upgrades over its predecessor. Here's a quick comparison of the Nord 2T with the OnePlus Nord 2.
The Nord 2T looks fairly different from the Nord 2 on the back. There is a rectangular camera module on the Nord 2T with two large circular cutouts. It has a triple-camera setup with two LED flash modules, which are also placed inside the camera module. In comparison, the Nord 2's camera module cutouts are smaller. The phone also comes with a single LED flash module.
The devices have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. Both devices sport a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. There is support for a 90Hz refresh rate as well, along with HDR10+ certification. The Nord 2T and Nord 2 feature dual speakers, a USB Type-C port and an alert slider.
For biometrics, there is an in-display fingerprint scanner along with AI face unlock support.
The biggest difference between the OnePlus Nord 2 and OnePlus Nord 2T is the processor. The Nord 2T has a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor. Compared to the Nord 2's Dimensity 1200 SoC, the Nord 2T's chipset features a more powerful gaming engine.
The Nord 2T is rumoured to launch in India with 8GB/ 12GB of RAM along with 128GB/ 256GB of internal storage. The Nord 2 was launched in India with three storage options. The base model came with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The other two variants come with 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 2656GB storage options.
Both phones pack the same 4500 mAh battery. The Nord 2T has a faster 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support, whereas the Nord 2 has 65W fast charging support.
OnePlus claims that the 80W charging adapter that is shipped with the device can charge the Nord 2T from 1 per cent to 67 per cent in 15 minutes. The Nord 2 charges up to 60 per cent in the same duration.
The Nord 2 was launched with Android 11 out of the box. OnePlus launched the device with a layer of Oxygen OS 11 on top of Android. The Nord 2T, being a newer model, runs Android 12 out of the box. It also has the latest Oxygen OS 12 update. The Nord 2T will get Android 14, whereas the Nord 2's update cycle will be limited to Android 13.
Both phones have the same camera setup. There is a triple-camera setup on the back. The phones feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera with OIS support. There is also an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP monochrome sensor.
For selfies, both phones have a 32MP front camera with EIS support.
OnePlus Nord 2 was launched in India for Rs 27,999 for the base 6GB RAM option. The 8GB RAM option was launched for Rs 29,999, whereas the 12GB RAM variant was priced at Rs 34,999.
The Nord 2T is rumoured to launch in India for Rs 28,999. For the price, the device will offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The 12GB + 256GB storage option is rumoured to launch for Rs 33,999.
