Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is in China for the G20 Summit held several meetings with world leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 summit. Here are the top quotes of PM Modi from his China visit:

INDO-CHINA TIES

"India, China must respect each other's aspirations, concerns and strategic interests," Modi said on Sunday during 35-minute-long meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where he raised India's concerns over the $46 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) being laid through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

In his candid comments reflecting India's concerns, Modi said both India and China need to be "sensitive" to each other's strategic interests and called for specific actions to "prevent growth of negative perception".

BLACK MONEY

PM Modi said fighting corruption, blackmoney and tax-evasion were central to effective financial governance.

"We need to act to eliminiate safe havens for economic offenders, track down and unconditionally extradite money launderers and break down the web of complex international regulations and excessive banking secrecy that hide the corrupt and their deeds," Modi said on the second day of G20 summit.

TRADE

"We need a regular dialogue between the IMF, Regional Financial Arrangements and Bilateral Swap Arrangements. IMF should remain a quota-based institution and not depend on borrowed resources," Modi said emphasing that the long-delayed 15th General Review of Quotas must be completed by 2017 Annual Meetings.

At a session on 'Robust International Trade & Investment', PM Modi spoke on why global trade must respond to needs & priorities of developing nations.

ENERGY

The Prime Minister also said that India needs energy to support its development. A "balanced mix of nuclear, renewable energy and fossil fuels are at the core of our policy."

TERRORISM

"Our response to terrorism should not be motivated by political considerations," Modi told Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday in his first bilateral meeting before the G20 Summit.

"Terrorists in South Asia, or anywhere for that matter, do not own banks or weapons factories. Clearly, someone funds and arms them." PM Modi went on to ask BRICS to intensify its efforts not just to fight terror but also to coordinate actions to isolate those who support and sponsor terror.

Condemning the terrorist attack on the Chinese embassy in Bishkek, PM Modi told Chinese President Xi Jinping, "this is yet another proof of the continuing scourge of terrorism."
