As gold and silver prices witness a dip, experts advise investors to clearly differentiate between buying for personal use and investing for long-term returns. Ajay Kedia, MD & Director of Kedia Advisory, shares his insights on whether it’s the right time to buy precious metals and what investors can expect in 2026. While short-term buyers may use current corrections to meet family needs such as weddings, long-term investors might find better value in other asset classes like equities, which appear relatively cheaper. Kedia also warns that gold may not even beat inflation next year and could consolidate after recent sharp gains, whereas silver could offer 12–15% returns if prices stabilise around ₹1,18,000–₹1,20,000.
