
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today announced a landmark AI scholarship programme aimed at B.Tech, M.Tech, and PhD students, while emphasising that the initiative will not be limited to engineering disciplines. Highlighting the government’s vision of balancing innovation with regulation, he underlined the importance of making science and technology safe, trusted, and accessible to all citizens. The scheme is also open to students from law, agriculture, medical sciences, and other fields, recognising that artificial intelligence will impact every sector of society. Notably, one of the selected model development teams includes health professionals from AIIMS, showcasing the diverse applications of AI. This scholarship programme is expected to shape India’s next generation of researchers and professionals in the AI era.
