The SIR showdown has erupted into a full-blown Parliament battle, with the debate on electoral reforms spiralling into a political clash between Amit Shah and Rahul Gandhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a sharp, point-by-point rebuttal to the Opposition, accusing them of running a “manufactured” campaign on vote rigging. He hit out at Rahul Gandhi’s questions on Election Commission immunity, reminding the House that Indira Gandhi granted herself special protection after the Emergency-era poll disputes. Shah also cited a petition alleging Sonia Gandhi voted before gaining Indian citizenship. Rahul escalated the fight, saying he’s ready for a debate on “vote chori” anytime prompting Shah to insist Parliament cannot be dictated to. As both sides trade blows, the winter session grows even more explosive.
