Phase 2 polling in West Bengal witnessed widespread tension, clashes, and serious allegations from multiple districts, raising concerns over electoral security. In Bhabanipur, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari was gheraoed while visiting a polling booth, as rival party supporters exchanged slogans, escalating the situation. Police had to intervene and resort to a mild lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.

In a shocking incident from Ketugram in Purba Bardhaman, six live bombs were recovered near a polling booth, prompting immediate action from bomb disposal squads and security forces. Polling was temporarily disrupted in Monteswar following allegations of a taped EVM button linked to a TMC candidate, sparking controversy over possible tampering.

Further unrest was reported in Falta, where BJP alleged booth jamming and malfunctioning voting machines, while TMC accused security forces of targeting voters. Clashes also broke out in Bhangar and Nadia, with allegations of voter intimidation and attacks on poll agents.

The Election Commission intervened in multiple instances, ordering corrective measures including repolling. The developments highlight ongoing political friction and security challenges during the crucial polling phase.
