“Even Yamraj Can't Open Files Closed By IAS": Yogi Adityanath Slams Bureaucracy Over Police Reforms

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a sharp jibe at the state's historical bureaucracy while addressing police reforms in Lucknow. Emphasising that the Police Commissioner System was stalled since 1972 due to lack of administrative will, Yogi remarked that IAS officers used to suppress the IPS by burying files so deep that "even Yamraj could not get them opened." Highlighting his government's aggressive modernization push, the Chief Minister announced that UP's forensic laboratories have expanded from 4 to 12 alongside new mobile vans, a dedicated Forensic Institute, and functional cyber police stations across all 75 districts.
