A devastating fire at a commercial complex in Lucknow's Aliganj turned a routine afternoon into a heart-breaking tragedy. The building, housing a gaming zone, coaching centre and pet store, was engulfed in thick smoke within minutes, trapping dozens inside. Several people, including young students, lost their lives, while many others were rescued in dramatic operations. Visuals showed a student jumping from the building in a desperate bid to survive, as rescue teams and locals used ropes to save those trapped. Even animals caught inside were safely rescued. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible short circuit in a basement air conditioner, though officials are also probing alleged fire safety violations. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief and assured support for the victims. Watch the full report for the latest updates on the investigation and rescue efforts.
