Mal Assembly Election 2026

Polling for the MAL (ST) Assembly seat will take place in the first phase on April 23, 2026.

Vote counting and the declaration of results for the MAL (ST) Assembly seat, along with all constituencies of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, will be held on May 4, 2026.

In the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2021, the MAL (ST) seat was won by AITC. The winning candidate, Bulu Chik Baraik, secured 98697 votes. The runner-up was from BJP, whose candidate Mahesh Bagey received 93106 votes.

In the previous election in MAL (ST), Bulu Chik Baraik secured victory as a candidate from AITC. They received a total of 98697 votes, accounting for a vote share of 46.5%.

In the 2021 election for the MAL (ST) seat, AITC candidate Bulu Chik Baraik won with 98697 votes. They defeated BJP candidate Mahesh Bagey by a margin of 5591 votes. Mahesh Bagey received 93106 votes in total.

In the 2021 election for the MAL (ST) seat, the runner-up was BJP candidate Mahesh Bagey. They were defeated by AITC candidate Bulu Chik Baraik. Mahesh Bagey secured a total of 93106 votes, losing by a margin of 5591 votes.

The West Bengal Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) has a total of 294 seats. Public representatives are elected directly.

In the West Bengal Assembly Elections held in 2021, AITC won the most number of seats. AITC won a total of 214 seats. The seat count for other parties was as follows: BJP (77), OTH (2)
