Maserati launched in India

Italian car maker Maserati has launched all its three makes - Quattroporte limousine, Gran Turismo sports car and Gran Cabrio sports convertible - in India.

The Gran Cabrio is a 2-door convertible. It is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine. It can accelerates from 0 - 100 km/hr in 5.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 283 km/hr.

The Gran Turismo is a 2-door coupe powered by a 4.2-litre engine. It produces 405 bhp at 7,100 rpm and 460 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. It takes 5.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 - 100 km/hr and has a top speed of 286 km/hr.

The Quattroporte comes with a 4.2-litre V8 engine. It accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 5.6 seconds and the top speed is rated at 269 km/hr. It will be offered in four variants.

Maserati aims to put 25 cars on Indian roads in the first year and will try to reach three figures by 2015.

The Shreyans Group, the official distributors of Ferrari, will also be the official distributor of Maserati in India.
