SpiceJet offers discount scheme for senior citizens

Discounts are raining in the aviation sector and this time, it's the turn of senior citizens to avail benefits. In a surprise move, private airline SpiceJet  has announced 15 per cent discount on base fare on domestic routes.

The scheme is applicable for citizens above the age of 60 years.

To avail the offer, booking and travel period should be from 15 July to 30 September, 2016.

It is mandatory for a senior citizen to carry a valid photo ID with date of birth and display it at the time of check-in at the airport, the airline's website says.

The senior citizen discount is valid on both, one-way and round-trip bookings, it added.
