Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and others owe BSNL Rs 550.88 cr

Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone are among some of the private telecom firms that owe about Rs 550 crore to the state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).



The amount is inter-connect usage charges (IUC), Minister of State for Communications and IT Milind Deora said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

While Bharti Airtel has outstanding dues of over Rs 169 crore, Idea Cellular and Vodafone have to pay BSNL Rs 121.36 crore and Rs 49.54 crore, respectively.

The other firms which also owe money to BSNL includes Spice Cellular, Aircel and Dishnet.
