IGATE CEO Ashok Vemuri resigns months after merger with Capgemini

Ashok Vemuri, CEO of IGate , has resigned after the US-based firm was acquired by Capgemini in July 2015.

Ashok Vemuri joined US-based IGATE as CEO in September 2013.

Paul Hermelin, chairman and CEO of the French firm Capgemini, said the firm would like to thank Ashok Vemuri "for his active participation to the acquisition process and his remarkable energy in the transition phase".

Vemuri, 47, quit Infosys in August 2013.

Vemuri, a St Stephens, Delhi, and IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus, was responsible for Infosys' business operations in the company's largest region with $4.7 billion in sales.

IGATE appointed Vemuri as its CEO and President in September 2013, replacing Phaneesh Murthy, who was sacked in May for failing to disclose his relationship with a subordinate as per company norms.
